TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Notably for the i Pad (Independent, 2010-Present. O bjective C)

Developer of Notably, a beautifully crafted app for the serious writer. N otably brings

focus, simplicity, and the convenience of automatic syncing to the iPad writing experience.

Originally released with the launch of the iPad in 2010, Notably has remained a popular

choice in the competitive category of writing apps for nearly 18 months.

Karunatree (University of California, 2009-2011. Rails & Javascript)

Lead developer for K arunatree, a N ational Science Foundation-sponsored web application

designed to help children engage with environmental sustainability. Merging the Google

Earth API with a Flickr-like user interface, Karunatree allows children to create and upload

seedlings : geotagged multimedia projects aimed at raising environmental awareness.

AI Architectures for Animated Characters (MIT Media Lab, 2002-04. Java)

Researched and developed AI architectures for autonomous animated characters based on

computational models of animal behavior and development. Contributed to interactive

installations shown at SIGGRAPH (2001), Ars Electronica (2002), and the Montreal

International Festival of New Cinema and New Media (2003).

Computer Sign Language Recognition (University of Oxford, 2001-02. C++)

Designed and implemented a computer vision system capable of translating British sign

language to text using a novel pattern recognition algorithm. Qualitative image

comparison techniques and tree-based interpretation search were used to achieve high

accuracy without camera calibration or data-intensive model training.
