I developed and maintained Web content for

this Silicon Valley startup. Duties included organizing content by

areas, working with tech team to ensure that the database relation to content

was stable, and consulting with marketing and business development teams

to ensure that content fit the business model. I also devised and

implemented Web publishing methodologies, data mining operations for content,

and project timelines/milestones.

As a QA Engineer, I provided pre- and post-production

assistance for the Web Development companies Organic Online and vivid Studios.

This included checking HTML, Javascript, graphics, and multimedia technologies

like Flash and Shockwave, as well as issues relating to UI and customer

interaction. I also diagnosed server-related issues relating to programming

languages like php and phtml, Microsoft ASP and other dynamically-generated

Web page technologies. Client websites I have worked directly with include

As a Writer / Editor / Developer for my

company ICS Media, I worked on many diverse projects in the Web and technology

fields. These included articles and reviews for high-technology magazines

like IEEE Computer (1999 Bronze Award, American Society of Business Publications

Editors, for New Advances In Antivirus Technologies ) and The Seybold

Report on Internet Publishing, as well as Netscape s Developer Web site.

I also worked as a consultant with Yahoo! on the Yahooligans! kid s web

site project, providing initial directory structures and logistics (www.yahooligans.com),

and co-writing the books Yahoo! Unplugged: Your Discovery Guide To The

Web and Yahooligans! Way Cool Web Sites, IDG Books). Other books

included Web guides for Springer-Verlag and a Web design book for Ziff-Davis.

Most recently I developed and wrote a book on robotics (Personal Robotics:

Real Robots You Can Construct, Program, and Explore The World With - A.

K. Peters, 1999), the first consumer-level guide to robot kits on the market.

My responsibilities included assigning reviews

on Open Systems and Internet software and hardware, managing writers, developing

story ideas, and creating a On-Site Reviews section focusing on businesses'

use of emerging technologies. I also developed the original World

Wide Web version of Open Computing for demonstration purposes. Special

projects for McGraw-Hill included producing On Ramp To The Information

Superhighway", a live demonstration class focusing on World Wide Web tools

at NetWorld/Interop, as well as chairing a panel session at UnixExpo and

UniForum on "Choosing Internet Access Tools".

Technical Editor

As Technical Editor for SunWorld, I supervised

advanced computer systems reviews and research. I was responsible

for major reviews each month, including developing cover stories and feature

articles and contracting with writers and technicians. Editorial

duties included project planning and procedural staff input for stories.

I also developed special articles and reviews on Internet-related hardware

and software. I coordinated multiple concurrent projects, structured story

approaches, worked to editorial spec, provided technical support, and met

deadlines.

SKILLS

As a Senior Level Consultant, I have extensive

skills in Web publishing and content management, including the relation

of content to development and technological implementations. I have

a solid cross-platform computer background (Windows, Macintosh, and Unix),

including programming/OS essentials and network/database knowledge. My

editorial skills include developing and assigning stories, working with

and managing freelancers, leading project teams, budget tracking, and feature

writing. I have also led Web tutorials and coordinated Website content

development. I write screenplays and edit science fiction anthologies,
