I research emerging technologies

in mobile, social and digital media communication for client companies that

include educational institutions, news agencies and media organizations. I interview

practitioners of innovative media technologies and founders of promising Web

2.0 startups in order to explore the latest trends in Internet communication. I

write white papers to perform comprehensive studies and analyses of emergent

multimedia tools.

As a lab manager in the

cardiology department, I was responsible for maintaining lab inventories,

managing databases, training lab personnel, and ensuring that the lab

officials, and forged alliances with other research labs within and

outside the

university. My position required me to constantly implement new projects

Analytical and research

studies in crowdsourcing (October 2007 to December 2008)

My research in graduate school

involved case studies in the use of blogs, social networks and microblogging

tools for online participatory journalism. I studied the various methods

employed by news organizations to utilize firsthand accounts from citizens,

audience expertise on specific subjects, and presentation of the information

thus obtained. The research involved interviewing leaders of crowdsourced

journalism projects, media scholars and reporters in order to gain an insight

into the various aspects of participatory journalism in the Web 2.0 world. The

aforementioned research was presented both as an academic paper and a panel

discussion at Internet Research Conference 9.0.
