INDEPENDENT DEVELOPER, OPEN SOURCE SOCIAL MEDIA APPLICATIONS 2007-PRESENT
Developed an architecture and prototype for a Content Announcement protocol using UDP. Implementing proto-
type server and client modules in Python on Mac OSX and Linux.
Developed an experimental web site called Socialogic.org to investigate the possibilities for a unified social
network/social media identity, and to learn Ruby on Rails. (Ruby/Rails/HTML on Windows and LINUX)
Developed a prototype for a new email protocol named Internet Message Transfer Protocol (IMTP) (java on Win-

For Agfa Cardiovascular in Westerly, RI. Developed .NET 2.0 C# web services for an EKG management system.
Had responsibility for data layer web service that mediated access to enterprise Oracle database from various
EKG system applications including a SmartClient EKG review program for physicians. (C#)
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER, HEARTLAB, INC., WESTERLY, RI 1997-2005
This position started off as VP Engineering and was formalized to CTO as the company matured. In essence, my
responsibilities through this period were to run the company s advanced development projects as opposed to
being a line manager, although I did have some role in that as VP Eng. In this role, I did a lot of coding but also
worked with the CEO to develop product and implementation strategies, and managed the projects as technical
leader/project manager. During this time, I worked on most of the company s core applications including
DICOM image review workstations (C++)
CineCapture product for capturing high-resolution xray video from cardiac angiography labs, (C++)
Suite of back-office Windows services for accepting and managing storage for various types of image data from
different imaging equipment in cardiology departments, including x-ray, ultrasound, nuclear and magnetic reso-

DVD writing storage service that interfaced with a juke-box type disc management device. (C#)
