Selected Accomplishments

Built company from scratch to significant entity. Launched Mikes Construction in 1992, quickly landing business and adding personnel. Working both residential and commercial properties, performed renovations, tile work, fencing, painting, patios, etc. Continued to build company reputation and sustain its business.

Gained trust, proved capabilities, and awarded additional business. Won contract to install flooring at large private residence. Provided ideas for remodeling of other areas of house. Given additional projects, tripling project revenue for Mikes Construction. Completed all projects within three weeks, two weeks ahead of plan.

Completed projects on more than 2,000 apartment units. As Owner of TP Mechanical, spearheaded superior company reputation and visibility leading to a significant number of apartment unit projects. Led and motivated diverse teams of personnel, completing each and every project on time and under budget.

Won numerous awards for performance. When construction experienced a downswing, transitioned into the insurance business and progressed quickly through sales to Branch Management. Built a Met Life unit from three to 27 personnel, and the most profitable office in Dallas. Selected to the Board of Health Insurance for the U.S.

Bid, won and completed critical project. Opportunity arose for TP Mechanical to land a project on an 8-story building being renovated in downtown Dallas. Structure was built in 1920. Formulated the bid, and awarded the contract to perform plumbing work. Completed project well within budget and time guidelines.

Career History

Principal, Mikes Construction, 1993 to Present. Manage all aspects of small business engaged in remodeling services for homes and retail space. Prepare estimates, bid for projects, develop project work plans, and ensure project quality, completion and customer satisfaction. Manage up to ten personnel.

Representative work includes renovating residential rooms, tile work, patios, fencing, painting and retail space renovation. Conducted all negotiations on projects and performed all work with minimal disruptions.

Branch Manager, Met Life, 1983 to 1992. Directed all branch activities and supervised 27 employees while focusing on providing sales and service of insurance and securities products. Conducted training seminars for personnel and increased sales and maintained profitability every year.

Won numerous awards for performance including Presidents Council Award, Leaders Council Award, and Branch Manager Leaders Council Award. Earned selection to the Board of Health Insurance for the U.S.

Earlier: Principal, TP Mechanical Co. Small business providing plumbing services for new home construction, multi-unit apartments, shopping centers and government buildings.

Leisure Activities: I coached Little League Baseball for seven years and enjoy various sports and playing poker.
