Position Sought:

Consulting Engineer in the development of new and innovative devices and

projects in electronic product design or various other new technologies as outlined

in fields listed below.

Education:

Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering (electronics with a

minor in nuclear engineering)

Registered Professional Engineer (PE in Electrical Engineering)

Related Experience:

Consulting engineering: Twenty years in design of about 100 new electronic

products and systems including redesign of existing projects. Current work

involves solving design and production problems for clients in large scale

consumer product manufacturing and alternate energy project investigation. I was

one of two Chief Project Engineers for constructing the Natural Bridges National

Monument Solar Power Facility and have won national energy awards from DOE

and IEEE. I have worked with many clients to generate complex project

interaction with client satisfaction. This interaction includes writing patent claims

for new client inventions, and receipt of several patents of my own.

I am currently also working with international projects in South Asia which

require considerable finesse and understanding of other cultures. They have

involved considerable travel at times for client interaction.

Besides consulting in hands on projects, I have taught a UofU EE

department class in A/D and microprocessor applications. (Includes design of

sensors, RF, IR, I/O and communications, displays and other applications. Also

includes assembly language programming and use of simulators, emulators and

programming devices) See website for details:

Salt Lake Community College: Nine years as professor of Manufacturing and

Automated Systems Technology (Full tenure). I taught both theory and

practical courses in industrial electronics, power systems, computer

applications, microcontroller programming, manufacturing technology, robotics,

hydraulics and pneumatics, and electronics quality control techniques at a

practical level. I am at home in any electronics facility with many years of work

in both engineering and field operations. I held the Department Coordinator

position when I chose to leave for full time consulting for the second time.

Ford Bacon and Davis Inc. Two years as Program Manager for Solar Power

Systems. I wrote the winning proposal to DOE for what was the world s largest

photovoltaic power plant at the time and served as Project Engineer and Project

Technical Advisor for this project on all hard questions .

LTV and EG&G: Four years in nuclear instrumentation design and

development. Worked for EG&G in Las Vegas and had highly innovative

systems I designed and constructed installed at NTS. I was granted a Q

clearance for work on nuclear weapons if required. Before working in Las Vegas,

I had one of only two licenses to operate and maintain the nuclear reactor at the

University of Utah which required considerable knowledge of all fields related to

nuclear energy.

Professional Activities:

Currently Utah IEEE Section Professional Activities Chair

Utah Governors Award for Excellence in Energy Innovation

Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Centennial Medal

U.S. Department of Energy award for Energy Innovation

Three years a member of the Utah Energy Council

Three years Chair of the Utah Solar Advisory Committee
