Hilton College Station College Station, Texas
Banquet Supervisor
Here at this property my shifts varied from morning to evenings, plus since we are at Texas A&M University, we had staff and other supervisors that eventually had class, so I always got asked if I can cover shifts. They know to ask me because I never say no. Needless to say I am always very reliable. I pretty much did the same as I did at the Houston location. come in for my shift earlier than the rest of the staff so that i can assign everyone where to work and tasks throughout the shift. Always in contact with the client. Have daily meetings for event changes or add ons, Do inventory, order whats necessary per client requests. Daily summary on the computer and post daily event checks, make copies and send to accounting and general manager. I also had so much fun working at this property, it was a great managerial learning experience.

Labor
This was also a great career experience while the job site lasted. I arrive for my shift at six in the morning at the yard, then our crew go in company trucks to the Valero Plant. There we use the Big industrial vacuum trucks to clean any oil spills or water in and around the plant. We also take the boats where the big container ships dock and pick up any spill behind or around them, with the oil spill booms. I also hauled hoses to conect to these big trucks. Operate the vacuum truck and properly dispose waste and clean the inside out. When we have complete work or little to do we keep busy by cleaning at our garage or yard.
February 2000 to April 2001
aluminum warehouse Port Arthur, Texas
Drill Press and assembly
Job task here was very routine. Everyday I come in for my shift in the afternoon, Report to tool room, get all necessary tools and equipment for my job area. Wear proper eyeglasses, drill the necessary holes, gather work then assemble, use forklift to bring more work for my station, and continue the process. One major key was to try very hard not to break drill bits, because then that takes time to go to tool room and get more replacement bits. So I was very good at not breaking them.

Hilton Beaumont Beaumont, Texas
Banquet Houseman/ server
I had to move to Beaumont and there i began as a houseman and what I did was set up all kinds of events according to diagram and specifics. when i was needed for any other tasks, I was always available. Almost every night and especially weekends I was needed to come in as a houseman to set an event, finish, then change to work as a sever for the event. As a server it also requires even more set up. After an event I then change back into houseman uniform and break that event down and set for the next day. As they would always say that I am very dependable and reliable for the job.
March 1994 to September 1994
Denny's Houston, Texas
Host and Cashier
My second job as a teenager and great experience because I got more out of interacting with customers and using a register, dealing with money exchange and taking small orders that later became big orders. Because of school i always came in after class and immediately started work by counting my money for my register clean my area and stock it as well. When my area was clean and stocked i also liked to help my other co-worker like the waiters and bus people to do some cross training. The manager at the time did not like that because he would rather me stay in my area. However, the assistant manager said that i show so much potential to wanting to move up and i may do it in other careers.
March 1993 to January 1994
Hobby Airport Hilton Houston, Texas
Banquet Houseman
This was my first job as a teenager and it was the start of my career in the hotel business. After school I took a city bus to work and once there I changed in the locker room and I my self grabbed the daily Banquet Event Order (BEO) and read what needed to be set for that evening and then moved on to the next day set ups. So I already knew how to read it and go accordingly to client specifics. Because of school I came in once or twice a week. Worked weekends for sure. I really enjoyed it there because my manager saw potential in me as a teenager.
