Manage an working on mobile services in the areas of automotive,,,, and . Car as a Moble Platform (CAMP): As one of three teams driven by the believe that the car is the next battleground for app ecosystems, we are creating the HTML5 automotive vertical consisting of car tablet, accessories, s/w technologies and signature apps. Specifically, my team provides an HTML5 execution environment for the car tablet, a Javascript API to OBD II, and several signature, mobile, HTML5, automotive apps in infotainment and productivity. HTML5 App Stores: Technical lead in the development of a variety of mobile services and mobile interactions techniques to support HTML5 application discovery. Socially Negotiated Game Play: Using card games that can be played anytime and anywhere as the investigative domain, we explored that are tweakable, tangible, and mobile. These components allow players greater choice in how to dictate the rules, pacing, and sociability of a game session. Real-time Mobile Video Sharing: Developed front-end to real-time, mobile sharing of YouTube videos using JQuery, HTML5, and Nokia Web Runtime. Piloted the service internally and worldwide.Mobile Calendars Beyond Alerts and Reminders: Create a mobile calendar application (two variants - and Qt mobile application) that leverages people, place, and time information to support just-in-time mobile activities. Two separate internal pilots were conducted, usage was analyzed, and feedback was obtained to improve on iterations. Mashup of content and resources from phone and the cloud.Synchronous Mobile Meetings: Create a mobile Web service (client and server) that facilitates synchronous meetings from smartphones. The service supports chat, slide sharing, meeting notes, and voice communication for mobile workers. For example, a set of "Java + VoiceXML" APIs to speech-enable Web, mobile, and Eclipse applications. Another example is a that exploits the visual structure of a Web page and integrated it into IE browser using Microsoft Java, browser helper objects, and ViaVoice TTS.Social Computing & Collaborative eBusiness: Explore new eBusiness collaboration and social computing paradigms using two Social Web portals as research vehicles ( and ).

Design, development, iteration and user research on two Web-based versions of a using Java, C, and Perl using HTML forms, applets, CGI, HTTP, FTP, JPEG libraries, video libraries for multiple system platforms. Developed video-image techniques to sense activity and to provide privacy shields.Participatory Design: Identify features, technologies, and services of a participatory design system that supports problem understanding, mutual education, collaboration and negotiation among group members.
Worked with an internal, cross-organizational group and the New York New Media organization to assess communication needs, required services, and work practices of virtual communities.Multi-Function Operator Workstation: Developed a keystroke data collection in C for a multi-function telephone operator workstation. Analyzed operator performance, formulated UI recomendations, and developed test plans. During the two-year period of our involvement, the workstation was rolled out to thousands of operators.
