Responsible for developing tools and workflows for users of varying technical abilities to encode and publish
audio and video content to the web, for on-demand streaming and podcasting.
Maintain and administer 24/7 live radio streams for WGBH 89.7 FM, All-Classical HD2, and WCAI/WNAN.
Provide monthly reporting and analysis of traffic to web media content.

IT Project Coordinator (September 2005 December 2006)
Developed software, web services, and internal workflows used to encode video content for cablecast,
archival, and web streaming in a PEG (Public, Educational, and Government) Access facility.
o Integrated a digital video (MPEG-2) server into playback operations and successfully launched a
new Public Access cable channel (LTC 95). Two additional Public and Government channels are
currently being migrated to the system.
o Created a system to encode live government meeting coverage for automatic compression, archival,
and publishing of video files for web streaming.
o Developed software to communicate with multiple internal databases to generate and publish TV
channel guide data via RSS.
Re-launched the formerly static LTC website as a Drupal-based community site (http://ltc.org), incorporating
the ability for members and staff to publish content, tying the system into external data sources for up-to-date
content, and adding live and archived streaming video.
o Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Apache, PHP, mySQL, Drupal, WSH, VBScript, shell
scripting, MPEG-2/4, ffmpeg, QuickTime Pro, RSS
Responsible for the management and administration of a Windows 2000 Active Directory environment, as
well as the maintenance of 40+ staff and public lab computers, in a mixed environment of Windows XP
Professional and Mac OS X (10.3/10.4).
Coordination of the Lowell News Archive, a project that involves digitally archiving 20 years of local news
programming and storing the relevant metadata in a searchable database with a web-based front-end.
o Ongoing training and management of high-school and college interns.
o Integrated a hardware and software-based encoding solution.
o Developed a Drupal-based website for metadata entry and management.

Creation of curriculum, and teaching of classes in Web Design (Dreamweaver), Digital Photography, and
Safe Computing Practices.
o Classes are open to the LTC membership as well as the general public.
o Teach one-on-one training sessions in HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and basic PHP scripting.
Ongoing consulting for PEGSpace (http://pegspace.org), a project aimed at assisting PEG (Public,
Educational, Government) Access centers in using the Internet to further the mission of community media.
AmeriCorps VISTA, Online Community Developer (September 2004 August 2005)
Lead the development of the DigitalBicycle project, a peer-to-peer system for distributing broadcast-quality
video content between Public Access television stations.
o Developed a Drupal-based website for the PEG Access community to share video content using an
integrated BitTorrent tracker.
o Developed and publicly released the Creative Commons module for Drupal 4.6
o Authored the functional and technical specifications for Sprocket, an open-source client-side
publishing tool
