The AOT Group (06/2006 - 07/2011 [5 years 1 month])
The AOT Group is the largest inbound travel operative in Australia. Its leading consumer
brands are Sunlover Holidays and Need It Now, but its booking engine is used primarily by
high street Travel Agents worldwide such as Harvey World Travel and Flight Center.
My primary role was to enhance and support the company s websites and back-end hotel
room reservation system and it s XML API.
Some highlights from my 5 years with the AOT Group are:
Re-design and development of a last minute accommodation site for better SEO.
Design and development to source dynamic room rates from a third party system.
Specified and oversaw the third party development of a customer loyalty system.
Add PayPal as an additional payment option.
Added support for Google Maps (both V2 and V3).
Development of a light weight scaled down booking application for internal use .
Design of a flexible and expandable portal site for internal applications.
Development of a system of hierarchical bookin g notes between external Travel
Agents and Internal Consultants.
Development of an application that automatically created bookings from a daily CSV
file.
