As Director of Building instituted enforcement of all provisions of the Rhode Island State Building Code and all applicable statutes, rules, regulations, and Municipal ordinances. Implemented the closing of several Public Schools in the City of Warwick due to Asbestos for such reasons as stated about. As Minimum Housing Standards Official I was responsible for the enforcement of ordinances regarding the Housing and Maintenance regulations of the Municipality to include Legal Counsel instituting the appropriate proceeding at law or in equity in court of competent jurisdiction, including municipal housing courts when necessary. Assist Police, Fire, and Health Department when requested to promote health, safety and welfare of the public due to a natural and/or man-made disaster. Perform closely with Fire Prevention Bureau and Fire Alarm Division in the issuance of permits, inspections and certificates of use and occupancy.
