Mr. Abedinimehr was hired as a Senior Consultant to oversee the implementation

of the organizational Data Resource Management (DRM) team. As a result of the

recent merger of Price Waterhouse and Cooper & Lybrand, the newly formed

entity

needed the implementation of a new DRM group to oversee the enterprise data

needs. Mr. Abedinimehr was responsible to manage the initiative and implement

the DRM group based on the newly formed requirements. He was also required to

supervise the collection of data requirement for the global enterprise data

warehouse, which exceeded half a terabyte. His responsibilities included

high-level Business Process Remodeling (BPR), creation of Enterprise Data

Model,

and implementation of the DRM strategy into the global Data Warehouse. Mr.

Abedinimehr was also responsible for setting up the definition, storage, and

delivery strategy of the Metadata component of the data warehouse. Based on

his

recommendation, a data dictionary containing all the data on conceptual,

physical and procedural data was implemented in an Oracle database and

delivery

of metadata to the users' desktops was made possible using MS. Internet

Explorer.

Continuing from the previous project at Pitney Bowes' Sister Company, Pitney

Bowes Leasing, Mr. Abedinimehr's assignment at Pitney Bowes of Canada involved

the creation of the Corporate Data Model. The model was then used to derive

the

requirements for the Canadian data warehouse. This data warehouse involved 80

fact tables and was over 200 gigabytes. Mr. Abedinimehr led the team that

successfully designed and implemented the first phase of the data warehouse in

an Oracle 7.3 environment. As part of this exercise Mr. Abedinimehr was

responsible for both the migration and the conversion strategy of legacy data

from IBM DB2 tables and VSAM files.

associated with each Canadian Federal Government's organization and employee.

Also within the same project, was responsible for development of the

conceptual

data model in adherence to DMR P+ methodology and translation of the

design into the functional data model including key migration, optimization,

user views, and code tables.

As a

consultant

with the Canadian Radio and Telecommunication Commission

(CRTC

),

conducted a broad user requirement study for a common data dictionary at CRTC.

As part of this exercise, determined the requirements, developed and

documented

alternatives, and conducted a software evaluation between the CASE tool Prokit

Workbench and the software PC Dictionary. Also organized user interviews to

help

define the total requirements for the Common Data Dictionary. Finally,

prepared

and delivered the final presentation to management.
