EXPERIENCE
Teaching & Research
Created and maintain a Joint Knowledge On-line US Pacific Command (USPACOM)
joint task force (JTF) training community of interest website devoted to joint task force
training and education issues and resources. Work with USPACOM-designated JTF
headquarters in implementing joint training programs within their organizations.
Designed, compiled and taught courses on the joint training system and joint operational
planning process to newly-assigned personnel (ranks between E7 and O6) to the
USPACOM s Standing Joint Force HQs (SJFHQ) from 2005 through 2009.
As a member of SJFHQ, mentored and embedded with JTF-designated headquarters
staffs encompassing a variety of JTF operations (particularly campaign assessment,
humanitarian assistance/disaster relief, and power projection).
Operations
Served in a variety of both exercise and actual operations from tactical to operational
levels, from peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance to power projection and theater-
level conflict. Served primarily in planning roles (ground, intelligence, campaign)
depending upon the requirement.
Operations include: American Samoa tsunami response (JTF - Homeland Defense)
2009, CARING RESPONSE (Burma typhoon response) 2008, UNIFIED ASSISTANCE
(South Asian tsunami response) 2005, DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM 1990-1,
Multinational Force and Observer mission (Sinai Peninsula) 1988-9. Exercises include:
TERMINAL FURY 2008, 2009; TALISMAN SABER 2007, 2009 (Australia); KEEN EDGE
2007, 2008 (Japan); YAMA SAKURA 1993 1996, 2007 (Japan); COBRA GOLD 2007-
2009 (Thailand); ULCHI FOCUS LENS 2004 (Korea); KEY RESOLVE 2005 (Korea).
Exercise co-director for TIGER BALM (2003 2006) brigade level Army command post
exercise with the Singaporean Armed Forces - responsible for all aspects of design and
conduct of the exercise.

Staff
Currently serve on the USPACOM staff as a Joint Training System Specialist
(contractor in the J7 Training and Exercise directorate) administering the USPACOM
JTF Training and Certification Program aimed at providing a comprehensive
methodology for service and sub-unified headquarters to rapidly train and respond in
joint environments for a variety of mission sets. Ushered five JTF-designated
headquarters through the 12-24 month process to achieve ready and postured JTF
coverage for a myriad of theater missions during the past three years.
Currently serve as Chief of Staff for the 9th Mission Support Command (headquarters for
all Army Reserves in the Pacific Theater) responsible for the training and readiness for
Army Reserve augmentation to Joint Task Force Homeland Defense primarily, and to
other Pacific-based HQs (US Forces Korea, US Forces Japan, US Army Japan, etc.).
Served on both tactical and operational level staffs as an intelligence officer, most
recently as Deputy J2, US Forces Korea, Production Officer for Joint Intelligence Center
Pacific and G2, 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade. Provided forward-looking estimates and
cogent analysis regarding campaign assessment and sundry topics of concern.
