Responsible for replacing 175 old PC s with Dell PC s and
migrating them from Windows 2000 to Windows XP Professional. I setup and installed 175 computers running
Windows XP Professional at the 97th Medical Group Hospital at Altus AFB,
Oklahoma. I also setup and installed over 50 aging printers both stand-alone
and network with new high speed printers.
I assisted hospital staff with end-user support with their computer
problems, and the changes that affected them by the migration. Project was suppose to take three (3) months,
but I finished it in 1 months.
Took leave of absence to take care of my terminally ill Grandmother in
New York, and to work on my Master s Degree at Cornell.

Responsible
for the overall management and maintenance of seven (7) file servers (Windows
2000/2003, NT, Novell 4.11, HP9000, UNIX, XP, and MICROS) that encompassed the
Local Area Network (LAN) and all connected computers (250 user network). All
devices to include: CISCO switches and
Nokia firewalls, as well as managing and maintaining the Wide Area Network
(WAN) for Hyatt Corporate in the state of Texas. Managed and programmed Point of Sale (POS) systems that
controlled the retail portion of the Resort as well as the Property Management
System (PMS) which managed the day-to-days operations of the Resort to
include: guests, assigning of rooms,
and retail outlets. Provided MS
Exchange support for all Hyatt properties that were part of the WAN for the
State of Texas. Maintained an inventory
of all hardware and software licenses.
Insured cabling (T1, fiber optics, Cat 5e) were installed and maintained
in accordance with specifications and locations and maintained throughout the
resort, meeting/ball rooms, administrative offices, golf course and Spa. Managed data and network security policies,
backups of all systems and enforced standards and policies set by Hyatt
Corporate. Wrote and maintained a
disaster recovery plan. Developed
annual system budgets (capital and operating) in accordance with Hyatt
Corporate guidelines, to include future planning years. Coordinated and purchased software and
hardware upgrades for all supported systems.
Provided regular communications to General Manager and his managing
committee on Hyatt technology plans/directions. Provided end-user support to all Hyatt personnel, guests, and
groups who held conferences within the Resort.
I saved the Hyatt resort over $500,000 in equipment and software
purchases and completed a wireless voice over internet protocol (VOIP) for all
500 rooms for $325,000 less than originally planned, and completely re-cabled
the entire resort with Cat5e. As for
backup used SAN's and VERITAS 9.1c to backup all servers over IP within the
resort and to a backup storage location in downtown San Antonio. Also, while at
the Hyatt I drafted blueprints for a 14,000 sq ft SPA and 150 Time shares and
Mini Spa, incorporating voice and data communications into our hotel
infrastructure of the Local Area Network (LAN) within the resort.
