Managed a high volume litigation practice, including two litigation paralegals. Primary focal areas include vehicular accident, wrongful death, medical malpractice, intentional tort and trucking litigation actions. Responsible for trial work, pretrial preparations, motion practice, strategies and negotiations. Exceptional skills and experience in research, writing and oral argument. Author demand letters and other correspondence, locate and screen experts, prepare witnesses and parties to testify at trial and in deposition, and prepare all cases for jury trial. Guest lectured at college level on Alternative Dispute Resolution, and presented at CLE on negligence issues and law office management.
Experience Included:
• Argued and won a negligent “duty” issue in both the Arizona Court of Appeals and Arizona Supreme Court in the case of Gipson v. Kasey, 214 Ariz. 141, 150 P.3d 228 (Sup.Ct. 2007).
• Tried to a jury 17 + personal injury/negligence cases through verdict.
• Briefed and argued six cases to reviewing courts.
• Successfully tried personal injury/negligence cases and argued/ defended major motions (dispositive motions, FryeDaubert motions to exclude expert testimony, motions in limine to exclude evidence, etc.) in State Superior Courts (most Arizona counties) and in U.S. District Court, District of Arizona.

Defended doctors, nurses, hospitals, and nursing homes in all stages of medical negligence litigation in State and District Court. Conducted and defended both lay and expert depositions, wrote and argued motions, drafted discovery, factually investigated cases, prepared parties and witnesses to testify, and prepared trials. Authored pleadings, disclosure statements, discovery requests and answers, and correspondence. Managed the firm’s plaintiff’s personal injury caseload, and drafted demand packages. Located and screened expert witnesses.
Experience Included:
• Resident expert in Criminal Law issues arising in the medical field, including treatment of persons charged with crimes, and criminal negligence of health care personnel (i.e. caretaking of vulnerable adult and elder abuse).

Managed an average caseload of 75 files consisting of armed robberies, car-jackings, aggravated assaults with serious physical injury, dangerous crimes against children, auto thefts, identity thefts, drug sales, etc. Successfully conducted various hearings and oral arguments on issues such as search and seizure, Dessureault identification, motions to suppress, motions to release, and confession voluntariness on a daily basis. Sole arson prosecutor for Trial Group E.
Experience Included:Litigated 17 + jury trials to verdict and obtained 16 convictions. Tried numerous drug and assault bench trials.
