Directions for Word Processing Exercise *; Resume

1. Open Notepad and type all the text using Notepad from the example. Copy the text.

2. Save your text file as Resume Text in p3student##. Close Notepad.

3. Open Microsoft Word 2003. Go to File and click on Open. Then select the text file called

Resume Text from your p3student## directory. You will have to change the Files of

type: to All Files to see your text file.

4. Go to View and click on Header/Footer. Then add your last name to the right side using

the Right Align tool.

5. Go to Insert and click on Page Numbers. Then select the following options:

a. Position: Top of page (Header)

b. Alignment: Right

6. Change the margins to 1 inch (all: top, bottom, left, and right sides).

7. Add your heading to the left side {Your First & Last Name, Teacher s Name [Mr. K],

Class Name [Computer Applications], and Date}. See example for details.

8. Change all text to Times New Roman size 12 fonts by highlighting the entire page

(Ctrl+A) and use the Font toolbar tools.

9. Click on File and click on Save As. Change the file name to Your Name Exercise 7 .

Change the Save As Type from Plain Text to Word Document and press Save.

10. Center align Jane > Smith, 250 Fry Avenue, Boulder, CO, 520-555, and jms@ text.

11. Add a single line return between all sections (see example).

12. Save. Remember to change the file name (step 9) and the File Type to Word Document

from Plain Text.
