Professional Experience
DoD Command and Control (C2) System Development
Organized and directed a strategically critical 18 month IR&D effort to develop a fully capable, novel,
command and control system for border security operations.
Completed effort with 15 person engineering team within budget, while doubling benchmark
development efficiency metrics, and greatly exceeded technical goals and expectations.
Leveraged modern, open communication and process tools (Wiki, VNC, WebEx), increasing
collaboration and staff effectiveness while modernizing CMMI Level 5 processes.
Small Boat Market System Development and Marketing
Coordinated and led a two year, $6M project to design, develop, demonstrate, and field an enhanced
command and control system capability for SOCOM MkV.
Established user group relationships, goals, and design requirements as the primary customer interface.
Managed multi-disciplined, multi-location engineering development effort to generate novel hardware
and software solutions, and successfully field a demonstration system.
Navy Common Operator Console Development (IR&D)
Organized and led a critical IR&D project to design next generation Navy Operator Consoles.
Project initiation to operational prototypes in under 9 months, contributed to proposal success.
Established multiple proven competitive advantages in parallel with proposal theme (usability,
commonality, value) via innovative, team-oriented engineering design process.
Navy Advanced Operator Console Development (ICWS Program)
Led the full development life cycle for a new US Navy lightweight operator console.
Introduced cost savings of >45% and weight savings >30% through introduction of new composite
materials, thin client displays, and manufacturing process improvements.
Collaborated with Navy Labs and customer to conduct early HMI study leading to improved
ergonomics and usability of the prototype and final product.
OJ-451 Emulation Development and Integration (CNDi Program)
Coordinated and led the software and electrical engineering development, integration, transition to
production, integrated logistics, and test effort for the CNDi program.
Coordinated with the prime contractor (Lockheed Martin) and the Navy Development Lab (Dam
Neck) during the entire software development life cycle.
Maintained schedule and budget constraints while achieving all technical program objectives.
Transition to Production (MMA, Axcelis, DRS)
Launched the domestic production of the European model of the Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Coordinated and verified engineering changes and new model transition to production of the Axcelis
photostabilizer semiconductor production equipment.
Transitioned rugged Army and Navy flat panel displays and thin clients, along with several operator
consoles from engineering to production, coordinating between engineering and the manufacturing
center while maintaining configuration management and quality control.
