KEY ACEDEMIC PROJECTS

M. Tech. Thesis (June 2011 Till Date)

Combustion Characteristics of Homogeneous Compression Charge Ignition (HCCI) using Biodiesel fuel

Operated engine on HCCI mode using diesel fuel and conceived an improved efficiency and much better

emission characteristics compared to normal CI mode

Prepared Biodiesel using Trans esterification Process, to use it as fuel for further experiment

Developed circuit to control time of fuel injection and its injection duration

Tool aim is to analyze the combustion characteristics and emission in HCCI mode with biodiesel fuel and to

determine feasibility of HCCI for its implementation as cheap power source for agricultural purposes

B.E. Project

Design Optimization & Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Piston using Pro-E software (Jan.2010-June 2010)

Developed a 3D model of piston of an engine on Pro-E software platform

Completed FEA (Stress & Thermal Analysis) for different crown thickness and skirt length of piston

Concluded various relations for mass variation, temperature variation and change in strain energy with

respect to skirt length and crown thickness of the piston

FEA (Finite Element Analysis) of Piston using Different Material (July2009 Dec.2009)

Designed a piston model with different materials (Al-4032 and Steel as material) on CAD platform

Completed FEA on pistons of both material and compared the stress and temperature on them

Found similar maximum stress on both materials with a much lesser, maximum temperature on Al-4032

than Steel piston and concluded Al-4032 as a better material for piston than steel

Modeling and Simulation of Elliptical Trammel (Jan2009 June 2009)

Modeled and assembled all the parts of Elliptical Trammel on software platform as a CAD project

Generated an animation of 10 minutes to analyze its different movements of its links

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

CAD-CAM Training - CRISP Bhopal (Jan2008 March 2008)

Learned skills for Pro-E wildfire 3.0 for computer aided design (CAD)

Designed a see through IC engine model & generated an animation, showing its operation

Developed CNC machine code using Pro-E software, and used it for production in a CNC Lathe machine

Gear Production Section - BHEL Bhopal (July 2009)

Learnt various aspects related to turbine repairing in turbine repairing shop of BHEL Bhopal.

Learnt about Casting process & operations of CNC Lathe & CNC Milling machine for gear production

TERM PAPER

Catalytic Control Techniques for Exhaust Emission Control (Oct. 2010)

Presented various control techniques and devices (DPF, Catalytic Converter) along with their principle,

their types and operation regarding their maintenance for controlling exhaust emission from vehicles

Compared catalytic converter to other emission control devices regarding its maintenance, performance

durability and cost

Study of HCCI Combustion Concept (April 2011)

Conceptualized principle behind Homogeneous Compression Charge Ignition (HCCI) operation mode

Compared HCCI mode with CI & SI operation mode to point out its advantages and disadvantages
