Aug. 2001 -- April.2004

Southeast University, China, Master of Engineering in Computer Science

Aug. 1997 Jul.2001

Southeast University, China, Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science

Research Experience

Research Assistant, ELANS Lab, Michigan State University Jun.2006 May.2009

Multi-Path Multi-Source Video On-Demand Streaming in Wireless Mesh Networks

Researched on the optimization of video streaming performance in large scale distributed systems. Designed

efficient multi-path routing algorithms for multi-source video on-demand applications in large-scale

multi-channel multi-radio wireless mesh networks.

Improve capacity and throughput in wireless mesh networks

Designed efficient resource allocation and routing algorithms in multi-channel multi-radio wireless mesh

networks, which improves the aggregate network throughput. Set up a real test-bed to measure the network

performance of interfering wireless links.

Building Energy Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks

Designed and implemented a distributed node sleep scheduling algorithm in redundant wireless sensor networks,

which conserves energy consumption of sensors and thus improves network lifetime.

Research Assistant, Network Research Center, Southeast University Aug.2001 April.2004

Distributed network traffic monitoring system

Designed and implemented data collection and analysis modules in high-speed networks. Participated in the

design of hierarchical distributed network traffic analysis system.

Work Experience

Member of Technical Staff, VMWare, USA Feb.2010--Present

Design and development of systems and server management modules of ESX products.

Integrate Active Directory management into ESX server stack, so that ESX server can be managed by Active

Directory users in corporate environment.

Proxy service for Active Directory management of ESX server.

HostProfile, which can snapshot configuration, monitor compliance and remediate configuration over a cluster of

hosts. Worked on scalability, extensibility, usability, and performance issues of the product.

Research and Development Engineer, IBM China Research Laboratory May.2004--Jul.2005

Designed and implemented Desktop Snapshot, which captures PC users runtime working environment and restores

it on users demand in Windows environment.
