Work and Research Experience:
Research Assistant, Purdue Rarefied Gas Dynamics Laboratory, West Lafayette, IN 2012 - 2010
I used Direst Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) techniques to study propagation of uncertainties through gas-
surface interaction models, developed techniques for deconvolving uncertainties from hypersonic
experiments; studied the feasibility of detecting non-equilibrium and ablation in ballistic range facilities;
and modeled high enthalpy chemical processes based on ab-initio methods.
Consultant and Intern, Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), Hawthorne, CA 2012
I was involved in preliminary design of a new boost propulsion rocket engine; I developed an injector sizing
tool and a calorimeter data reduction tool for evaluating performance of pintle injectors.
Instructor, GERI (Gifted Education Resource Institute), West Lafayette, IN 2011
I taught a summer middle school rocket science class for gifted students. I was the sole instructor for this
18 student course and was responsible for developing and presenting all of the educational material
Teaching Assistant, Purdue Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, West Lafayette, IN 2010 - 2009
I taught undergraduate AAE 333 Fluid Dynamics and AAE 334 Aerodynamics. My responsibilities included
giving lectures, running help sessions, holding office hours, making and grading exams and homework.
Research Assistant, UCONN High Speed Combustion Laboratory, Storrs, CT 2009 - 2008
I worked with Prof. Michael Renfro to study blowoff dynamics of bluff body stabilized flames for jet engine
afterburners using PIV/OH-PLIF laser techniques. I designed, built and calibrated equipment and software
for optical diagnostics, regulating fuel and flow profiles.
Research Assistant, UCONN Plasma Spray Laboratory, Storrs, CT 2009 - 2007
I worked with Prof. Eric Jordan to study thermal barrier coatings with high infrared transmissivity;
developed and implemented Tauguchi Experiments; and designed and tested modifications to plasma guns.
Intern, CDI Aerospace, Windsor Locks, CT 2007
Maintenance Engineer, Marriott Hotels, Farmington, CT 2007
