Accomplishments
I have been employed in Tucson for the last 37 years as a Mason. The last 20 of those years I have been self-employed. During that time I have managed to satisfy all of my clients no matter how difficult or demanding. I have worked for homeowners, general contractors, insurance companies, and a host of other businesses. Through longstanding relationships with satisfied customers and many referrals I have made a very good living doing what I love which is building. The quality and integrity of my work was always the most important thing to me. I knew that if I conducted my business in that manner that the work and money would naturally follow. This work ethic and these values have enabled me to operate and function in the top 5 percent of my field. When I wasn't working for myself and was employed by a masonry contractor I held a foreman position or was what we in the trade call a lead man. A lead man works on the corners or what we call a lead. Lines are attached to these leads. In effect the integrity of the building is dependent upon these leads. Only the best work on them. A lead man also takes on other difficult jobs during the building process. If you hire me I will operate with the same integrity, perseverance, and attention to detail that has enabled me to not only succeed but excel and perform at the top of my profession in a very demanding and competitive field for the last 37 years. I find myself at a crossroads in my life. It is time for me to take on a new challenge and embark on a different career path. I do not look upon this change with fear and trepidation. I have never been more excited or optimistic about my future. If you give me the opportunity to work for you I will bring the same level of intensity, desire, and commitment to my new profession. Having worked as a self employed builder for the last 20 years I have sold my reputation and my ability to organize and assemble masonry building materials to meet the desires and requirements of my clients. I was able to do this because I believed in myself and my abilities. As I close out my masonry business and career this is my first employment inquiry. I am looking for a permanent long term position. Just as it took a significant amount of time and effort to achieve proficiency and success in the masonry field, I enter into my new career knowing that success will not come overnight. I will commit myself fully but patiently to my new career. I promise one hundred percent commitment to my superiors and the company. I believe this is not only an opportunity for myself but for you my employer. I have lead and worked with people all of my life. I know that good ones are hard to find. If you hire me I promise you will not be disappointed.
Professional Experience
September 1991 to September 2012
Coleman Masonry Tucson, AZ
Mason-Salesman
Spent the first 17 years of my career in commercial masonry. Spent a good deal of those years as a foreman. Extensive knowledge of every phase of masonry construction. Footings, stem walls, buildings, retaining walls, blueprint reading.
The last twenty years I have dedicated myself to custom residential masonry. This has included numerous custom homes built from the ground up. I have specialized in the building of approximately 200 custom fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, massive retaining walls, complex glass block showers, and of course all phases of flat patio work.
I've recently specialized in the building of radius drug disposal burn units which requires a high level of masonry knowledge, specialized equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to complete projects quickly.
Below I have included references. Most of which I have completed many projects for. These people are all of outstanding character and can vouch for my honesty, ability, and integrity. I have many more if they are needed.
