Low Temperature Solid State Physics

Condensed Matter Physics Group, UCLA (Prof. H.W. Jiang)

Analysis and Modeling of 2-DEG behavior in the presence of material defects using Matlab.

Measurement of heterostructure noise at room and low temperatures to relate 1/f noise with effect of material defects.

Optimization Using Genetic Algorithms and Particle Swarms in Fortran and C++

Antenna Research Analysis and Measurement Laboratory (ARAM), UCLA (Prof. Y. Rahmat-Samii)

Developed and Implemented a Particle Swarm Optimizer in C++ and compared to Genetic Algorithm Optimization.

Enhanced and implemented Fortran-based Genetic Algorithms to reduce the length and weight of corrugated horn antennas, while

maintaining good radiation patterns.

Work lead to publication of a conference paper and an IEEE AP Transactions paper currently under review.

Fast Electronics

High-Energy Particle Physics Group, UCLA (Prof. D. Saltzberg)

Assembled, modified, and tested trigger electronics for the CDF experiment at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.

Developed C++ functions to monitor and display detector luminosity information.

Automatic Target Recognition Algorithm Development

Raytheon Algorithm Development Department, (DARPA/AFRL contracts)

Analyzed High Range Resolution Radar Data to find and classify moving ground targets.

Designed and Tested several Target Recognition Techniques using Matlab.
