RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
Low Temperature Solid State Physics
Condensed Matter Physics Group, UCLA (Prof. H.W. Jiang)
Analysis and Modeling of 2-DEG behavior in the presence of material defects using Matlab.
Measurement of heterostructure noise at room and low temperatures to relate 1/f noise with effect of material defects.
Optimization Using Genetic Algorithms and Particle Swarms in Fortran and C++
Antenna Research Analysis and Measurement Laboratory (ARAM), UCLA (Prof. Y. Rahmat-Samii)
Developed and Implemented a Particle Swarm Optimizer in C++ and compared to Genetic Algorithm Optimization.
Enhanced and implemented Fortran-based Genetic Algorithms to reduce the length and weight of corrugated horn antennas, while
maintaining good radiation patterns.
Work lead to publication of a conference paper and an IEEE AP Transactions paper currently under review.
Fast Electronics
High-Energy Particle Physics Group, UCLA (Prof. D. Saltzberg)
Assembled, modified, and tested trigger electronics for the CDF experiment at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
Developed C++ functions to monitor and display detector luminosity information.
Automatic Target Recognition Algorithm Development
Raytheon Algorithm Development Department, (DARPA/AFRL contracts)
Analyzed High Range Resolution Radar Data to find and classify moving ground targets.
Designed and Tested several Target Recognition Techniques using Matlab.
