Director

Directly responsible for the development of all products commercialized by Simmons Bedding Company, USA as well as direction for our international licensees.

Simmons has experienced exceptional growth during my time in this role with sales increasing year over year in excess of $1 billion in revenue.

Curently participate in and frequently lead in Simmons Bedding Company's product strategy team which it's purpose is defined by establishing not only our near term company's strategy but also the forward thinking strategies of our brands and products.

This team is comprised of our Executive Leadersip Group as well as the relevant disciplines responsible for determineing the company's path forward.

Championed and implemented a modified stage gate development process with executive level support to ensure successful commercialization of our products as well as seamless integration with our operations group.

Plant General Manager

Charged with directly and indirectly overseeing all functions of this 75,000 square feet facility in Newnan including distribution, purchasing, engineering, quality, safety and manufacturing as well as the management of $7 million in assets.

Full P& L responsibility reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

Managed the qualifying process of ISO9001:2000 and was the lead for implementation.

Orchestrated a zero percent lost-time accident record for over three years running.

Negotiated pricing and contracts on behalf of the company for all aspects of the business.

Maintained and executed human resource duties including conducting inquiries and attending hearings as well as drafting company policies and assuring the compliance thereto.

Responsible for maintaining and coordinating five retail locations in the surrounding Atlanta area in accordance with their respective lease obligations.

Reduced raw material inventories by 85 percentage in line with the parameters of JIT and Lean Manufacturing principles saving $152k.

Was promoted to this position through the acquisition of Bassett Bedding Company.

Directly responsible for the profits and losses of this plant and the management thereof.

Personally managed all functions of this business location including purchasing, personnel, inventory control, administrative and customer relations.

Senior Production Supervisor

51 hourly employees under my supervision and direction.

This included both molding and fabrication departments.

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a $10 million, three shift operation including raw material manufacturing.

Helped devise and implement new employee policies for discipline and pay scale ranges with knowledge incentives.

Eliminated seven day operation, (over time), by managing straight time and improving work place organization and workflow.
