This is a large pdf. file that

contains lesson plans, a unit plan

and assessment tools used

during my placements. It may

take several minutes to load.

Summary

I am a recent graduate from Nipissing University's Bachelor of Education program in North Bay. I am

certified to teach the primary, junior and intermediate grade levels in the province of Ontario. I also

have my ESL Part 1 qualifications. Nipissing's Schulic School of Education provides its students with a

rich knowledge of how to use and integrate technology into the classroom setting. I am quite familiar

with many programs on both Mac and Microsoft systems. Prior to Nipissing, I attended and obtained a

Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo, where I majored in Visual Arts and minored in

Geography.

My courses at Nipissing and my practice teaching experiences have provided me with an ample

amount of knowledge and resources to take with me into my own classroom. Through Nipissing s

program I have obtained 12 weeks of practice teaching experience in the Peel District School Board. My first

placement was in a grade 5 class in Brampton where I thought Language, Mathematics, Science and Art. I also

helped with the grade five s extracurricular activities in soccer and the Christmas Concert. My second placement

was in a large grade 8 class of 30 in Caledon, where I taught Language, Science, Art, Geography and a bit of

Mathematics. During this placement I was also responsible for planning units and assessing and evaluating

student performance. My most recent placement was done for my primary qualifications in a Grade 1 class in

Caledon. This placement allowed me at assist the teacher with lessons in Language and Math, and also

introduced me to the aspects of the new play based curriculum. Furthermore, the placements in Caledon provided

me with experience assisting ESL students.

I have also gained experience working with children and students through work and many volunteer

placements. During these experiences I have had the opportunities to work with many different age

levels right from 0 to 17 years of age. I have even had the opportunity to work with and teach 2nd year

undergraduates at the University of Waterloo in the anatomy lab.

Below you find an overview of my education, work and volunteer experiences. The side panel includes

information and documentation from my practice teaching, my philosophy of education, and certificates

of my ongoing professional development. Just click on the blackboard images to open the pdf. files for

viewing.

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet you, to further discuss my qualifications and

experiences in detail.

Yours Truly,

Chandra Pherrill
