While working for ViaSat, Inc. I worked at the El Cajon CA, ViaSat, Inc. location from February 2008 to 2012 as the FSO for that facility. During this time, I was able to obtained 3 superiors reviews in a row, from DSS.
Ensure all government and company security regulations are in compliance with DoD and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Prepare all security documents per customer and contractual requirements. Knowledgeable and responsible of all security areas, i.e., size, and locations of each closed /restricted area within the facility.
Responsible for all security measures, i.e., ensuring all government and company security regulations was in compliance. Coordinated employee Badges and clearances conducted self-inspections prior to normal DSS inspections. Initiated security briefings in reference to OPSEC, COMSEC, TEMPEST, and CRIPTO as well as restricted data. Set meetings and training sessions on classified documents, document control visitor logs and clearance incoming, and out outgoing. Conducted investigations on all suspected security violations. Effectively managed a COMSEC account, as the COMSEC Manager. One of the tools utilized was the DIAS Software. I Utilize the JPAS system Security Clearances system.
Interface with customers, DSS, etc., Conduct investigations on suspected security violations. Conduct self-inspections, initiate security briefings both in- house and potential customers, conduct meetings and training sessions on classified document control.
Responsible for maintaining all incoming DD-254s to include the issuing of all outgoing Subcontracts DD-254 s. Responsible for providing SIMS and DIAS updates to the ViaSat, Inc. personnel. Responsible for maintaining all Classified Contracts DD-254s in SIMS, to include the filing system for Classification Management. Responsible for all classified document control for ViaSat, Inc. located at the El Cajon facility. Assisted in the development, implementation and installation of a SCIF, Closed Areas, and Restricted Areas. Managed the installation of TYCO / ADT systems, to include development of access control systems using the Lenel access control system.
As the FSO I was also the ISSM for the El Cajon ViaSat, Inc. facility as well as the Safety Manager of those Operations.
