Summary
In applying for this position, I will be utilizing the skills and knowlege I acquired from working at Georgia Premobilization Training Assistance Element (Ga PTAE), and in the Army National Guard, to help and care for patients.
Objectives
In applying for this position I hope to further my skills in patient care, by taking on the task at hand, and completing it to the best of my abilities. I will work twice as hard to make sure everything is exactly how it is supposed to be, and to ensure that patients are happy and well taken care of.
Employment History
August 2011– October 2011: Combat Medic GA PTAE, Fort Stewart, GA, United States While employed as a medic at Ga PTAE, I provided medical support and medical training for National Guard units that were getting ready to deploy. If I had a patient, I did my best to asses them in a timely manner and had to quickly decide if the patient was good to go back to training or needed further medical attention. I took charge of situations and was able to direct others what to do to help out.
January 2010– February 2011: Combat Medic GA PTAE, Fort Stewart, GA, United States While employed as a medic at GA PTAE, I provided medical training and support for deploying National Guard units. I took charge in teaching various medical classes and provided hands on training for other soldiers on medical lanes. I also helped train soldiers in other tasks, such as: security, land navigation, and movement drills. In doing this, I gained knowledge in leadership and gained the respect and trust of my superiors and subordinates.
September 2008– present: Combat Medic Army National Guard, Savannah, GA, United States As a medic in the Army National Guard, I provide medical support for training and I take charge of teaching various classes. Along with this, I am able to get tasks complete in a timely manner, and do better work than what is expected of me. While I attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, I learned to follow my orders exactly and not question what a leader told me to do.

I learned how to treat various injuries and how to work under abundant amounts of stress and confusion. I also learned to pay very close attention to every detail, and methodically go through a complete check list of what to do for a patient.

Interpersonal Skills
Over the course of my career, I have gained important skills in communication and patient care. In particular, during the years I have worked as a medic, I have been able to tell others what was going on with a patient, and what we could do to fix the problem. I have also gained the trust and respect of my coworkers and patients. I believe my experience in working as a medic and soldier gives me a great understanding of responsibility and relationships that will contribute to my ability to excel in the work place.
