I work within the Network Operations / Datacenter facility, directly with hardware and in a client-facing position. This position entails handling migrations, hardware upgrades, correcting hardware failures, software issues and troubleshooting, LAMP installation and configuration, emergency situation preparedness, network troubleshooting, DDOS/attack mitigation, maintaining communication with international facilities, working with on-site colocation clients, and being current on hosting & datacenter standards. I develop scripts for automation and ease-of-use in Python, Perl, and Bash. I perform audits of equipment and services to determine if they match expectations, and correct any inconsistencies. I lead a team of 2-3 people, generally overnight, often in high-stress situations. Additionally, I handle any higher-level issues, and monitor the Level 3 helpdesk on down time.
