x-rays"(Med. Phys. 22, 1191)"
WORK EXPERIENCE:
-
Technical Trainer,
Sun Educational Services. Teach Sun certifying courses, interests in
core Java, iPlanet and Netscape Application Server Technologies.
(Dec 2000-Present)
answerthink-
Consultant,
Commerce Applications.
Completed certifying training in Developing Apps with iPlanet Application
Server 6.0. Focus on B2B and B2C strategy, front end and API
development, coding and implementation. E-Marketplaces, eCommerce supply
chain with Surveyor. (Oct 2000-Dec 2000)
Dept of Computer and Information
Science, Univ of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia - Software
Programmer.
As part of a 4 member project group, developed a model retail auction
(C2C) web application Dreamland. Assisted the group design the framework
and individually coded (java) a powerful internal search engine, a digital
watermaking scheme to protect auction items using inverse fourier
transforms, graphical software integration to a thin client architecture
for viewing real time auction charts/graphs, and generic Java servlets.
Implemented an Apache web server, PostgreSql server with a JDBC driver, a
Squid proxy server and a Linux based firewall & OS. After completion of
web development, in phase II the group successfully model tested (use
cases) standard auction protocols like open cry, counterintuitive, Dutch
and Scaled bid auctions by incorporating business process flow model into
Java based testing algorithms.(Jan 2000-June 2000).
IBM-ACE Center, Dhaka,Bangladesh -
Instructor
Taught parts of IBM-ACEs (part of IBM Global Learning Services, Geneva)
advanced Java curriculum certifying course. Designed and taught a 2 day
training workshop on E-Commerce systems which spanned basic as well
as advanced topics from software engineering white papers and was
presented to a technical group. (July 2000-Oct 2000),
Dept. of Computer and Information Science, Univ. of Pennsylvania -
Graduate Research Assistant.
Wrote a Visual C++ program incorporated with ray-tracing software Povray.
The program simulated a robot's vision. Designed a sensory device to
process these real time images to a control sequence, which manipulated
motion in 3D on an arbitrary rough terrain.(August 1999-June 2000)
Hospital of the Univ of
Pennyslvania, Philadelphia, PA- Software Programmer.
Wrote a Visual Basic 6 program, focus lying on irregular calculation
capabilities and adding a patient database. Program is being used by
medical physicists and doctors at the Hospital of UPENN and elsewhere
in its satellites to treat cancer patients.(February-June 1999), Univ of
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia - .
Responsibilities include assisting professor in grading, writing, proctoring
exams, writing weekly quizzes, holding weekly recitations and lecturing
on Sunday Night Review sessions.(Sept 1999-June 2000)
S.D. Alam & Co. Ltd, Dhaka, Bangladesh- Member, Board of
Directors . A leading general trading house, formerly the largest
importer/ assembler of TATA trucks/buses in the nation. Responsibility
includes supervising company's participation in international tender
bids.(Sept 1996-July 2000)
Dept of Physics,
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA-
Teaching Assistant. (August 1998-Sept 1999)
Dept of Physics, University of
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA- Research Assistant.
Of interest to manufactures of beer and shaving cream, worked on an
experiment carrying out the diffusion spectroscopy of wet foam. In
another experiment, devised a method to yield a high population of two
microscopic spheres joined at their surface."Doublets" were used to design
a high precision inferometer sensitive to distances about one-millionths
of an inch. (Sept 1997- May 1998)
Dept of Astronomy, University
of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA- Research Assistant. Used a
Fortran program to compute (numerically integrate) the "Power Spectrum" of
Cold Dark Matter in the early universe.(July - Sept 1998)
Dept of Physics, University
of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA- Research Assistant.
"Smart decoys" emit misleading electromagnetic signals towards ground
based radar detectors. Verified to what extent atmospheric plasma acts
like a mirror, reflecting the radar signal before it can get jammed,
thereby failing the decoy.(Summer 1997)
