Resume:

experienced music teacher will teach piano, violin, viola or cello (El Mirage/Surpirse)

Date: 2013-01-04, 4:53PM *************@***.***

experienced professional music teacher with 30+ years experience will teach piano, violin, viola or cello in my home. Low rates, affordable ages 5 and up, Beginers to Level 5 as long as they can recite the alphabet and count to 10 forward and backwards. They are ready and they also must have a good attention span, References available. Christian Granfather of 12, semi retired (55)

I worked in CA NY and Teaxas and had an average of over 75 students each week and was always booked. As semi retired I would like to take on 5-10 students in the Surprise/ElMirage/Peoria area. Private music teacher with 30+ years of experience. Lessons are 30 minutes long weekly. Only serious students preferred. It is a commitment and I expect students to practice EVERY day and for a set amount of minutes depending on level and ability. Lessons paid a month in advance. 4 week/5 week month is the same fee. Students are allowed two makeups lessons per year and a two-week vacation. I obeserve all National Holidays and your tuition will reflect any holidays that you will not be charged. Tuition is due before the first lesson of each month no exceptions. I cannot teach a student if they do not bring their tuition BEFORE sitting for their first lesson of the month. PARENTS: This a a commitment for you also to get the to lessons on time and encourage them to practice everyday. They cannot advance unless they master each weekly lesson. It is important for parents to be responsible for their child's monthly tuition on time. I really hate to have to ask. Students who arrive for their first lesson of the month without their tuition will forfeit their lesson and they can call for their parents to pick them up early or to bring tuition. Since I am only taking 5-10 students, this is my income and I will depend on it. I appreciate your cooperation.

For Paino students they will work on a real baby grand piano. I can help string students locate a violin, viola or cello for low rates through a third party. I also can do minor repairs, restring and tune your instruments. I follow a detailed program using easily found books available at any music store. All days and times available. Students may have more than one kind of book.

Students should arrive 5 minutes before their lessons and leave immediately after with their parents waiting for them in the car. Parents are welcome the first lesson but I need their total attention and parents often hinder than. You are also encourgaed to stop in at any time for a few minutes at your need to observe. I as a parent and a Christian know how prescious these kids are and I will make every effort to teach them and encourage them to advance with small stickers and/or pencil rewards. I will only touch the student hands or fingers when needed to show them fingering or hand placement when needed. Students should use the restroom before their lesson starts if needed and to wash their hands well. I have a short time for questions after each lessons with parents or students but I am not a babysitter. I schedule my time accordingly and must stay to that schedule. Your piece of mind and the students safety are paramount to me. Unfortunitly, I do NOT encourage hugging, kissing etc. I use praise to reward and encourage. This is for the times and to keep the student/teacher relationship professional. I am not overly stern but I make it fun to learn and advance and to encourage their practicing and advancement. When a student recognizes the tune they are playing is a personal reward for me.

Free consultations and a mini-lesson can be arranged at no charge if they sign up then. Only students who really want to play a musical instrument and want to practice everyday is mandatory. If I see a student is not suited after several lessons because of non-practicing/non avancement or short attention or behavior, the parent will be contacted to end lessons or reformulate a better practicing schedule. This is a three part agreement among; student teacher AND parent. The amount of time they practice is very important and after 30+ years of teaching I know if they are practicing in earnest. With your help, they will become competent musicians and have this gift for the rest of their lives. Every student should play a musical instrument for at least two years. It helps them in their regular students and encourages good habits of study. Students who take private lessons are usually earning higher grandes than ones who do not.

Lessons should also be fun and I will make every effort to provide encouragement and praise. Also making lessons fun and keeping their attention is my job. The Students job is to practice and advance on a regular basis and the Parents are committed to monthly tuition, getting the student to and from lessons on time and encouraging their daily practice in earnest. Parents should listen in on their praticing student as they will see when they become better. Your encourgaement and praise will go very far.

For younger students, I will give out stickers for rewards and much praise for their growing abilities. Students should bring a small spiral notebook to keep their homework assignments in and record their daily practice. Parents should monitor their amount of time of practice. You cannot advance very far without practicing. Those who are committed and practice religiously will advance quickly and their efforts will come out in the level of their playing. If you wake up, eat and go through your day, you also practice. I will give out additional pieces of music, charts and homework as needed and I will provide the student with a folder to carry their music to and from the lessons. Please do not forget your lesson books as I cannot keep every lesson book and music for every level of playing and every instrument on hand.

All students will be taught to READ music just as if they are learning another language. Some weeks may be more difficult and I will make every effort to analyze their practicing and learning and to spread out especially difficult lessons over a few weeks. I teach. I love what I do and you will love it when your student plays Mary had a Little Lamb, Pacabel's Cannon in D or Bach's Concedrto in D minor. I will also mix in some fun music also and quickly learned pieces to show them they are capable of actually playing a recognizable tune. Encourage your student to play for family members and friends and relatives all the time to help them gain confidence in playing.
