I have been offered the Prism Scholarship by the University
of Rhode Island (URI) for Graduate Studies in Library Information
Science which prepares future librarians to provide information literacy
instruction to and work with diverse populations. Currently, I am
working as an intern at the URI, Kingston Library. My internship
involves reference and instruction and teaching information literacy

community. As a part of the information literacy instruction, I teach

Catalog to search, retrieve and locate books and journals. I also teach
the WRT 104 classes, teaching them how to develop effective search
strategies while finding articles and evaluating these articles when
using databases such as the Academic Search Premier.
