Mr. Cathey has 40 years experience in analysis, design, simulation building, technical writing and management. Now retired, he is looking for an outlet for his creative talents. He can work independently, but works well with others and can lead as well as team. He has excellent computer skills and works daily with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). He has all the equipment at home for effective telecommuting. During his career as an Operations Research Analyst, engineer and manager, he wrote over a hundred technical reports and technical proposals for and to US Government and US Military clients. He has superior editing and rewriting skills. As a creative writer he has published two books.

1966 1983 Engineer to Senior Systems Analyst/ Manager, Teledyne Brown
Engineering Co (TBE). In Huntsville, Alabama, he worked as an engineer designing test equipment under contract to NASA. He worked as an operations research analyst and simulation builder for US Army classified missile defense programs. In Fort Walton Beach, Florida, he worked as a design engineer, analyst and simulation builder for classified USAF Weapon Development Laboratory programs. In El Segundo, California, he performed systems analysis and simulation development for classified USAF Space Defense Initiative (SDI) and space satellite programs. Mr. Cathey eventually became manager of TBE California Operations.
1983- 1986 Director of Research and Development Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical
In San Diego, Mr. Cathey led a team of engineers and technicians in the development of advanced Target and Reconnaissance Drones for the US Navy, USAF and foreign customers.
1986 2006 Chief Engineer, Sparta, Inc. TS Clearance. He performed systems analysis, technical support and simulation development for classified US Army, USAF and Department of Defense programs. While at Sparta, he held the distinction of having won more Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) proposals than any other person. He led numerous proposal teams for government contracts and was program manager for many contracts. He represented the company making numerous presentations in the Pentagon and at US Military facilities. At the end of his career he served as a consultant to the Office of the US Secretary of Defense.

is available from Amazon or through Barnes and Noble. Mr Cathey will send an electronic copy of the book on request. This book is an example of both creative and technical writing. It was written a style to achieve high readability and appeal to a specific audience of casual high handicap golfers. It also shows proficiency with Microsoft Office. All the coarse layout graphics were made in PowerPoint. Statistics were analyzed and graphs prepared in Excel. Text, of course, was developed in Word.
