Responsibilities: Management and mentorship of 11 member weather flights consisting of active duty, civilian and Air National Guard members. Develops policies and procedures for weather support provided to the 55th Wing, United States Strategic Command and other tenet units. Directs weather product dissemination, mission weather integration and timely severe weather notification vital to flight and ground safety. Oversees training, maintenance and operations of weather equipment, radios and Doppler radar. Schedules personnel for 24/7 weather flight operations, coordinating military and civilian leave. Manages $20K annual budget, authorizes spend plan and procures equipment to enable the mission. Presents staff briefings to Wing leadership.
