Job Position: Title III Fleet Service Clerk

Responsibilities: (Work together as a crew and independently in safe but fast pace environment. Work safely with and

around heavy equipment and multi-million dollar aircrafts. Make sure the Capt. has the correct

shipping documents for the cargo on his aircraft. This is to inform him what type of cargo is onboard.

The safety of my co-workers, crew and passengers is all part of my responsibility).

Duties that specializes in: (Customer Service, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory, Forklift Driver, Crew Chief,

Trainer, Instructor, Ramp Clerk)

Equipment: Forklift (standard), Forklift up to 40,000lbs, Standup Forklift, Pallet Jack, Belt Loader, Huff (Push Back

Tractor), Tractor (Gas and Electric), De-icing Truck (With boom), Company Trucks

Software: American Airlines Web Site and Software (Jetnet, T-Lenk, Sabier) OUTLOOK, Microsoft Word

Job Description of Duties

Customer Service: Upstairs in the terminal I will assist customers (passengers) to correct gate and baggage claim and

directions to restaurants/restrooms/rental cars/hotel shuttles or the nearest smoking area. Also

inform the customers (passengers) if there is a delay on flight time or gate change. If the customer

needs passenger service agent I help them find one. At the warehouse, I will help customers with

shipping and receiving of their freight.

Shipping and Receiving: Read over the airway bill while receiving the customer's cargo to make sure the Shipper has all

their cargo. And also to make sure the shipper is shipping the correct cargo. Look Shipment

over for any damage or hidden dangerous goods. Once I have received the cargo, it is then my

responsibility to print out the correct labels to put on cargo for Shipment. Make sure all the

cargo is counted for before I build a pallet for Shipment. I also have to look cargo over of any

damage or dangerous goods. If there's any dangerous goods' being shipped I have to make sure

the correct documents is with the cargo for shipment.

Warehouse: (Various duties) Use forklift to move cargo from trailers to warehouse. Use forklift to buildup pallets for

shipping of cargo. Use forklift to breakdown pallets and separate cargo to airway bill. Nightly inventory of

cargo and peace count. Before I take the cargo to the ramp for shipping I must look up the flight info to

make sure I take the cargo to the correct gate for departure. If there are any gate changes I have to move

the cargo to the correct gate. I also go to the ramp to pick up the inbound cargo for the customer to claim.

Ramp: Park (Marshall) aircrafts into the gate. Communicate with captain and control tower for pushback clearance to

move aircrafts from gate area. Load/unload aircrafts with luggage, cargo, dangerous goods, animals and mail.

Perform security checks on aircrafts. Service the lavatories. Have to be able to perform all these duties in all

types of elements in a safe but limited timely manner on each and every flight.

Crew-Chief: In charge of a crew of 6. It is my responsibility to make sure my crew works as a team to get the flights

in/out on time. I have to make sure the Lavatories are serviced and the aircraft is fully watered. Make

sure the Captain has correct documents for shipping of dangerous goods. Make sure the cargo goes in the

correct compartment for the safety of the crew and the passengers. Call load control for weight and

balance. Contact the control tower for any mechanical issues so they can move next inbound to another

gate.

Instructor: It is my responsibility to instruct/inform the pushback driver of any obstacles that is in the drivers blind spot

(wing walker). If there is a gate change I have to inform the transfer driver of the new gate. If a flight CXL I

have to tell a driver where to take the bags and cargo too. Part of working as a crew it is our responsibility to

keep each other informed of any changes to any company policies or procedures. I will inform my co-worker

where to read the change, rather it is a printed document or on the company computer. This is all part of

working safely and as a crew everyone has to be on the same page.

Trainer: Train co-worker on equipment that they may not be comfortable with or not use to. An employee that is not

trained correctly on how to use company equipment is not a safe employee. This is not safe just for the crew it

is also unsafe for our customers. It is also part of my responsibility to write up and take any unsafe equipment

out of service, so no one will get seriously hurt or injured.
