Our Story

A few years ago, our Managing Partner was working with an engineering firm in Raleigh, NC, and the hiring manager was looking for an Environmental Engineer.

After doing our due diligence and gaining a complete understanding of the education, certifications, expertise and discipline requirements, we posted an ad for the position and received over 100 resumes.

Disappointed, the candidate asked what skill he was missing. Our Managing Partner explained that our client was looking for someone with 5+ years of split spoon drilling expertise.

The candidate quickly responded, “I have 14 years of split spoon drilling experience, but I didn’t put it on my resume because I didn’t think it was important”.

After filtering through each one, we finally narrowed it down to three candidates.

While meeting with one of the top contenders, our Managing Partner told the candidate that although he had the most expertise, he was missing one of the key disciplines that the hiring manager was looking for.
