Zebrafish Behavior System
Fully designed a complex automated fish behavior test platform to teach fish to prefer a light, dark, or color combination in specific zones. Behavior taught with shock punishment.
This system uses 3 simple webcams to track fish blob and control test flow of three independent experiments with one PC computer and one flat screen monitor.
System designed as solution to experiments with many test variables and combinations. Data saved to a .csv file for easy analysis by biologists.
Embryo Pick and Place System
Assisted in pick and place system designed to use 3 axis robot to locate a single 0.7mm embryo from hundreds, capture it with pipette, and place it is a specific well in a multi-well dish.
Assisted in implementing Cognex Vision System with Denso robot to accurately acquire embryo with 98% pick success.
4 of these enclosures operating in the lab at this time loading thousands of embryos per day.
Department of Chemistry, OSU Corvallis, OR
Engineering Student Worker, September, 2011 to June 2012, part-time.
Fully designed di-electrophoresis system as proof of concept for future lab on a chip research and experiments.
System is highly versatile. User can adjust high voltage from 180 to 800 volts, switch 21 high voltage channels in any order, easily write simple procedures, and quickly design new high voltage work surfaces.
I was the project manager of research, development, and construction of this system.
