Senior Management level responsibility for a Futures & Options Exchange. Provide strategic direction for a staff of 12 technology professionals in the areas of Network Operations (NOC), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM); Data Center Design, and Data Center Support. Manage operational and monitoring initiatives for all member, network and server connectivity. Overall accountability for power and network connectivity to all information systems located in our New York and New Jersey Data Centers.

Head/Director of Data Center Infrastructure Management & Network Services 2007 2012

Data Center Management

Managed 9000 sq. ft. of Data Center space along with the supporting 2000kW of power.

Managed Information Technology Data Center Infrastructure staff of four technology professionals. Managed Data Center implementations (asset management, rack and stack, cabling infrastructure, deliveries and power installation), environmental and power monitoring; security responsibility for production, test, office, and corporate environments.

Developed and implemented documentation that outlined the responsibilities for Data Center and Facilities management to better manage our specific areas of expertise.

Created five-year technology roadmap for company-wide Data Center needs. During that process we right sized the two facilities by partnering with the Business Owners, Engineering, Facilities, Capacity Planning, Vendor Management and Data Center management teams.

Directed the design, construction and implementation of two new Data Centers in support of a new production platform. This included floor layout, overhead conveyance, power, infrastructure cabling, cooling, and the overall diversity for power & cabling.

Implemented and managed 200+ Cisco components (switches, PIX firewalls, routers), 1000+ HP servers that consisting of server and blade technologies, SAN (EMC Symmetrix, Clarion and Centera), and various security and sniffer technologies.

Network Operations

24/5 Network Operations Center (NOC) staff of eight technology professionals. Managed network monitoring, implementations and security responses for the production, test, office, and corporate environments.

Directed and approved all Network configurations across the enterprise.

Managed and provided an IT Service Desk for internal and 300+ external customers through our ticket management system. The system was governed by SLA controls according to severity levels.

Computer Operations

24/5 Computer Operations staff of twelve technology professionals. The team was responsible for application and hardware monitoring, software implementations and security responses for the production, test, office, and corporate environments.

Designed Computer Operations Strategy during the initial phase of the companys launch. Developed all processes and procedures for Computer Operations.

Escalation point for critical production issues 24/7. Provided direction for incident resolution during service impacting situations and engaged the proper technical support where necessary.

Managed Incident and Change Management processes in accordance with ITIL best practices.

Developed and implemented policies and procedures to expertly manage remote implementations, for both internal and external HP server farms, that supported the exchange.

Created policies and procedures for leveraging DNS in the production environment.

Project Management

Provided Project Management for delivering critical configuration changes for our primary and redundant Data Centers to reverse processing roles. This complex project involved network and applications message flow changes, plus scheduled hardware and software modifications so that we could processes out of a new site without downtime or introducing latency. The project ran for one year.

Provided Stake Holder support for Commissioning of two (2) Data Centers to replace our existing sites. Created the project plan and worked with our Project Management Office (PMO) and the General Contractor (GC) for overall site selection criteria, equipment distribution between the rows and sites, implementation(s), and milestones. This highly successful project ran for 15 months.

Managed and worked with the PMO on a cost savings initiative. Created a relocation plan to support an intra-site move that entailed moving technology without incurring any down time. This project was performed under budget, on-time, and saved the company 500k in the process.
