Skills Summary
With a background in business analysis, database design and application development, I also have strong interpersonal skills which make the "people" side of business analysis my forte. A definite mix of technical and social skills gives me the ability to sit both sides of the fence relating and working equally as well with managers, customers and business people as I do with support departments such as IT and Finance. Whilst my recent experience has been in the Business Intelligence and Datawarehousing arenas I have broad interests in the general science and economics of business, economics and marketing and have a keen ability to learn new roles and skills quickly.General ProficienciesBusiness Intelligence ArchitectureProgramming Language ExperienceC#MajorHTML/CSS/JS etcMajorC++MinorComputer Application ProficiencyProClarity/PerformancePointSQL Server///SAP (backend)CRM Dynamics (backend)Clarify CRM (backend)Operating System / EnvironmentsWindows XP/Vista/7Windows Server 2000/3Linux (Debian)

What Makes Me Tick
Interests / Hobbies
Music
Played trumpet since I was 4; also play guitar, dobro, piano, most brass and dabble in other strings. I got through Uni being a part-time music teacher and playing in bands. I still play regularly but mainly guitar only now (my chops aren't what they used to be). I enjoy listening to blues and jazz predominantly but also enjoy classical and rock. Currently in my playlist I have good ol', some and our local boys and the 'finger.
Sport
Really enjoy cricket; am a much better spectator than player but enjoy both. Really like the longer form of the game. To keep fit I enjoy squash and the odd bit of cycling and jogging.
Data Visualisation and User Interfaces
Much of my personal study goes into these areas as they both interest me a lot. With the wealth of data that's being opened up of late there is no end to experimenting with some cool GIS data or some fancy new UI tools.
Emerging Web Technologies
In fact, all emerging technologies. Currently the massive growth of the mobile technologies is keeping me really interested as well as the push to try to cater for the new web with HTML5 and CSS 3 and some craftier web frameworks. It's an exciting time to be alive!
