Senior Software Engineer - AOL Access: 12/07 - presentArchitect, design, build and support a wide range of internal tools (utilizing several different technologies and platforms) across the AOL’s access organization.Manage remaining web-based registration paths as well as support several legacy marketing sites. Redesigned and rebuilt AOL’s free account registration path that’s currently being used.Ensure that web site development “best practices” are being followed within the Access and Product groups, including making sure that all code is semantic and W3C standards compliant, search engine optimized and fully accessible. Also frequently sourced out to other groups within the company in order to offer technical advice on everything from layout/design to the technologies that should be used.Software Engineer - Online Marketing: 1/04 - 12/07Primary focus is on the implementation and build of individual AOL product marketing websites. Total involvement in the entire life cycle of each project, working first hand with everyone from marketing/project managers to partners, design firms, 3rd party vendors, QA groups as well as other groups throughout the company.Built a suite of tools to give the marketing managers the ability to update large sections of dynamic JavaScript code (served into several of our websites via a 3rd party vender) simply by filling in a few form fields.Involved in many different “one-off” projects spanning several of the AOL web properties as a technical lead representing the Online Marketing’s best interests.Senior Interactive Media Developer - Online Marketing: 10/02 - 1/04Primary duty was to manage the AOL, CompuServe, and AOL Premium/Digital services web registration paths. This involved personally building and testing of over 200+ different UI designs spanning over 20 different product registration paths.Worked with e-mail marketing team in development and distribution of targeted marketing e-mails. This involved online collection and management of prospective e-mail addresses, as well as working with a 3rd party for dynamic e-mail creation and distribution.Designed from scratch and built an AOL registration path UI to compete with what was at that time the control UI (designed by a major design firm costing our department over $50k). When tested head-to-head with the control UI, my design showed a 5% lift in registrations and was immediately changed to be the control UI.
