Headend Technician - Responsible for the reception and distribution of off-air, satellite, microwave and digital transport programming up to the outside plant utilizing coaxial cable and fiber optic transmission technologies. Monitor video, audio and RF quality of services delivered on the forward and reverse. Perform daily check of RF levels and HE alignment. Verify video and audio levels for processing equipment. Monitor Commercial Insertion equipment for performance as needed. Maintain required logs, records and other documentation in compliance with company and FCC technical requirements. Maintenance Technician- Responsible for preventive and/or demand maintenance and repair of the hybrid fiber coax network including all of its associated equipment. Troubleshoot and repair basic distribution problems associated with RF, AC, DC portions of the forward and reverse plant. Troubleshoot and repair basic problems associated with the optical portion and the forward and return plant. Perform routine node optimization, balancing, aligning and adjustment of components and equipment used to amplify and process signals. On a regular basis test all HFC network components using test equipment including signal level meters, volt-ohm meters, spectrum analyzers, optical power meter, leakage detector, OTDR and other related test equipment. Record and update documentation, compare findings in the field with existing documentation and adjust and repair accordingly.
Installer - Performed basic installations, disconnects and service changes for residential customers. Performed basic troubleshooting and repair for services from tap to customer premises equipment. Assured and recorded proper levels and signal quality within required specifications on active outlets. Monitored and recorded system, drop and in house signal leakage. Promoted and sold company products and services and educated customers proper use of services and equipment, including channel lineups, how to add additional services and access help online.
