PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Department of Motor Vehicles Headquarters Renovation (Fall 2012)
Collaborated with colleagues to design two lobby additions to the DMV HQ, ensuring
building code regulations and mock client expectations were met. The design included
structural analysis, sustainable structural and non-structural features, meeting site plan
boundaries, and ADA accessible features. Assisted in writing a work plan, technical
report, and project report. Formally presented our design to mock clients.
Intersection Optimization Analysis (Fall 2011)
Collected movement count data on the State University Drive and Stadium Drive
intersection. Calculated the peak hour factor and peak hour volume to optimize the
level of service with aide of Synchro. Collaboratively prepared a formal technical
report recommending options to improve the intersection s LOS.
Reinforced Concrete Building Design (Fall 2011)
Collaborated with classmates to design a two-story structure including one-way slabs,
beams, and columns. Used Excel/VBA to aide in the flexural and shear reinforcement
beam design calculations. Ensured economical design and fulfillment of required
specifications.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
PlayCare Volunteer (Summer 2010)
Planned and organized educational and recreational activities for kids enrolled in the
PlayCare program at the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. Assisted youth
with reading and learning the fundamentals of English and math.
