Site Manager

Promoted to manage the Automation and Remote Control (ARC) project for

the

Electricity Corporation of New Zealand's Waitaki Hydro Scheme, the

largest

automation project of its kind in the history of the hydroelectricity

industry

to date. Direct the activities of 5 sub-contracting firms involved in

the

removal, development, installation and commissioning of 61 control

systems.

Maintain site accounts, source all electrical, mechanical, and

hydraulic

hardware not supplied by Voith Hydro, maintain testing and

commissioning

schedules, develop factory/site commissioning test reports and attend

monthly

project meetings.

*** Successfully automated 8 power stations and a 58 km canal system

consisting of 32 generators, 6 canal controls, and an additional 23

ancillary

controls, in record time (24 months).

This allowed Voith Hydro to obtain $560,000 in bonuses and eliminate

penalty

fees.

TEST ENGINEERING

Field Commissioning Engineer

Concurrently assigned to complete the electrical, mechanical, and

hydraulic

commissioning and final performance testing of 6 new hydroelectric

generators

and turbine control systems in Taiwan.

As Lead Commissioning Engineer, commissioned 25 hydroelectric turbine

control

systems and PLCs, performed factory equipment testing of 61 control

cubicles

and performed extensive factory testing on related Allen Bradley

software, all

within a 24-month period. Additionally responsible for designing

mechanic

hardware, hydraulic pressure systems, repairing station failures to

100% unit

accuracy and producing all factory acceptance and site commissioning

test

reports.

*** Developed customizable machine test report formats, which

eliminated the

need to produce new documents (up to 100 pages) for each test

performed. These

formats are currently being used for various Voith Hydro projects

globally.

*** Advised Voith Hydro to re-develop a more structured software

format, which
