Transportation Project Manager, May 2008 - October 2011

* Spearheaded the first cross-functional team in MoDOT that managed one of the largest workloads in Missouri, and received Performance Base Pay. Our team was established to be highly experienced in the design and understanding of ADA (American Disability Acts) policies, delivering positive results for other design teams. Cultivated relationships in MoDOT departments that led to many highlighted accomplishments, including an innovative way to lease right-of-way in lieu of purchasing, providing savings of over one million dollars.

* Managed a workload which was overall rated 2nd highest in the St. Louis District and produced overall project costs within 5% STIP (Program Costs vs. Award) and within 0.2% PSE (Project Design vs. Award) and Change Orders averaging a negative 1.3% within award for project.

* First project team to design, have a project awarded, and construct an ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) Project in 2010.

Assistant District Construction and Material Engineer, June 2000 - April 2006

* Managed the St. Louis Materials Department, supervising the largest staff of 32 in the state for MoDOT and bringing the materials lab to full functionality. During this period, I was also managed five regional Resident Engineers for construction.

* Led the department as District Team Leader for the Operations Training Team and Materials Certification Program, established the first Quality Control/Quality Assurance Specification for project oversight that was approved by the federal highways.

* Spearheaded the recruitment and interviewing of engineers and technicians for all positions for the Construction and Materials Department in the St. Louis District.

Resident Engineer, July 1989 - May 2000 & May 2006 - April 2008 (Job study promotion)

* Managed and supervised all daily operations and functions of construction operations of major bridge rehabilitation, bridge construction, roadway and drainage construction, signal and lighting construction, and major seismic retrofits in the St. Louis Area. Closely worked with the Area Engineer and Maintenance Engineer on roadway maintenance and snow removal. Oversaw the project scheduling, environmental assurances, purchasing of equipment, training and development, quality assurance and supervisory tasks.

* Team Leader on high impact teams that produced positive changes to our specifications and standards for highway construction and quality assurance. Examples were Resident Engineers Statewide Quality Team, Excavation, Signal and Lighting and Concrete Construction Teams.

* Major projects included the reconstruction of the Rte. M Corridor, a project totaling over 90 million dollars, the reconstruction of over four miles of Route 231 and the replacement of the bridge over the Meramec River, the construction of the I-270/I-55 interchange and nine miles of reconstruction and lane additions on I-55 and the majority of the seismic retrofits of the approaches to the Popular Street Bridge over the Mississippi River.
