utilize the supercomputers / Parallel Distributed Linux Cluster.
- Revise or develop new computational algorithms for clients using
parallel programming and vector computing paradigm.
- Create tools using shell scripts to automate common programming

- Promote the use of HPC to the scientific academic community via
solicitation, discussions, demonstrations and workshops.
Achievements: - Developed a templatised Array software (XArray) and porting a
computational software (Octave) from 32 to 64 bit platform.
- Modified sequential programs into parallel programs with noted
improvement in efficiency of the software. Benchmarked scientific
codes range from heat transfer to N-body problems.
- Vectorized a Magneto-hydrodynamics and Finite Element program
to achieve 400% improvement. A Finite Difference Quantum
Chemistry program was optimized to achieve 2000% improvement.
- Successfully promoted our unit and winning two projects from the
Fluid Dynamics group and the Oceanography group.
