Owner of small architectural rm in Denver, Colorado that engages in both Design-Bid-Build

architectural services and collaborative arrangements with other design rms in the metro area, particularly Xan

Creative and Morris Design Studio for the production of construction documents and speci cations, and/or standard

architectural scope of services.

Involvement with Mercury Architects has included the following tasks:

-Contract formulation, analysis, and management, with ensuing client and consultant negotiation, also including bid

Managed teams of architectural and interior design staff in the creation of construction documents from conceptual

design through the completion of construction, and have been involved directly in the generation of said

documentation. Performed quality control checks of various projects within the rm using of ce standards and

typical redline procedures. Built and maintained effective relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors

in the process of assembling a complete and reputable set of contract documents.

Involved directly at various points through contract/construction administration, including eld observation and

documentation, consultant coordination, response to contractor RFI s, production of ASI s, punch-lists, review

of change-orders, and nal close-out.

Coordinated submission of design documents through local municipalities and negotiated approval through various

planning and historic preservation departments, as well as the State of Colorado Division of Gaming.

Responsible for the generation of rm proposals in response to RFP/RFQ s for a variety of projects, including

hotels, recreation centers, health/wellness centers, university dormitories, etc. In fabrication of said proposals,

developed scope of work for design/consultation, and suggested schedule for construction. Created graphic

design elements for rm/project branding and overall company exposure in various markets.

Initiated the rm s transition from 2-d construction drawing (strictly AutoCad) to a BIM platform, via the

Autodesk Revit application. Consequently, standardized of ce procedures to handle standard hotel prototypes

Language Arts / Social Studies Teacher, Coal Creek Canyon K-8 School, August 2003 - August 2006

Co-led the design and implementation of a middle-school program at Coal Creek beginning in the fall of 2003. As

the school had been previously structured as a kindergarten through sixth-grade facility, many norms had to be

established to bene t both the adolescent and primary populations as well as adhering to acceptable curricular

standards. Facilitation on a number of issues had been necessary between members of an extremely diverse

and economically beleagured community, as well as a faculty expressing a variety of needs and expectations.

Held position of Department Head in the disciplines of Language Arts and Social Studies. In these two subjects,

great strides were made in structuring a child-centered constructivist curriculum, while enhancing individual

instruction in a multi-age environment. Ongoing collaboration occurred with district curriculum advisors, as well as

articulation-area middle school educators, to achieve a cohesive and effective course of instruction. To further the

evolution of an inspired methodology in a new setting such as Coal Creek, the responsibility of budgeting and

purchasing of materials conducive to this effort was accomplished.

Implemented a state of the art technology program at Coal Creek. Utilizing a mobile wireless lab, LCD projector,

and a number of innovative computer applications including PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Flash, and Adobe

InDesign, many advances were instituted to increase student and staff familiarity with available equipment and

advance curriculum and academic expectations. Current technology was intertwined fully

into existing district curriculum and personally fabricated instruction so as to align with

standards and achieve a well-rounded and comprehensive manner of teaching.

Following an intensive training course on grant writing through Jefferson County School

District, engaged in a number of efforts to generate funds, including the solicitation of

grant monies through Colorado non-pro t associations and for-pro t corporations.

Participated in a wide range of faculties for Mercury, a promotions/marketing company for the architectural

field. Aside from business management duties, tasks completed also included graphic design, web development,

architectural design and modeling, exhibit fabrication, illustration, drafting construction documents, and architec-

tural consulting and coordination. Held sole responsibility for corporation financial management. Duties

included financial recordkeeping, payroll calculation, tax financing, and establishment of overall budgeting and

profit/loss guidelines.

Developed comprehensive marketing tools to ensure both the success of Mercury as well as their clients. Interacted

collaboratively with architects and developers across the Front Range of Colorado to achieve effective and

bene cial marketing strategies to accommodate individual company needs. Using a wide variety of visual
