The Professional Biography of Marvin Mackey

Successful

companies need individuals with versatile skill sets that can roll up their

sleeves and keep costs down.

I am a high technology veteran with U.S. and

Asia Pacific operations experience combining operations,

quality, manufacturability and support. Most recently I was the

Director of Operations for Atrua Technologies, a silicone based Fingerprint

Sensor manufacturer with production in Taiwan. Prior to that, I was Sr.

Director of Advanced Manufacturing for Xircom, a half billion-dollar global

wired and wireless mobile connectivity company with production in Malaysia. I also have an extensive background in

technical service and support operations.

By leveraging my diverse mix of management

experience, I understand the complexities of working with cross-functional

groups to achieve challenging business objectives.

I am a passionate problem solver with

an emphasis on process development. As an example of my organizational abilities, I was selected by the COO at Xircom to organize, build

and manage a new strategic organization tasked with ensuring product

manufacturability, knowing the majority of my background and technical

expertise at the time was in service and support and outside of operations

and engineering.

This 120 person team successfully reduced the

roll-out window for a diverse family of products whose critical launch dates

provided Xircom with a key competitive advantage. The global,

cross-functional responsibilities included mechanical design and development

PCB layout packaging compliance, component, test and manufacturing

engineering pre-production materials data control system test

quality and failure analysis. Other accomplishments included project

management for the mechanical development of RealPort, a patented, award

winning flagship product. I

initiated the use of refurbished product as warranty replacements, producing

annual savings of over $ 4M and structured, organized and built

Xircom s award winning technical support team, providing a pivotal

differentiator that established Xircom as the global market share leader in

mobile connectivity. Additionally, I developed a Western Regional service

business for Square D (a Group Schneider company).

An avid diver, mountain biker and snow skier, I

organized annual company white water rafting and ski trips as well as weekly

mountain bike rides as a means to foster team work and cooperation. I also

made extensive use of team building off-sites, brainstorming sessions and

annual departmental conferences to further forge strong relationships and

improve communication.

My

personal and professional development was enhanced through management

programs at Stanford University s Executive Institute, the University of

Virginia s Darden School of Business and the AMA.
