This truly was a nation wide company, in the six years that I worked for them they sent me to work in ten different states. These jobs were very diverse, and large commercial jobs, I was completely unsupervised, requiring me to be a self starter, and a turn key electrician. My pay rate was 35.00 per hour, plus travel expense's, and perdeim.
September 2005 to August 2006
Helix Electric San Diego, Ca
Journeyman Electrician
I was a wireman roping commercial high rise buildings in downtown San Diego. This job was prevailing wage, my pay rate was 45.00 per hour.
March 1996 to September 2001
Thornton Electric Eugene, Oregon
Journeyman Electrician
I started my electrical career with this company. Thornton Electric was about some light commercial level work, but mostly residential. There was usually between three to five crews that made up this privately owned company, but we wired about 150 homes per year. It was an exciting way to start my electrical career. I was indenture through Thornton Electric, I went through the 4 year apprenticeship program here, this I was told is one of the more difficult programs with which to turn out.
