Cluster Recycling Problem
Hi,
I have a domain set up with a cluster of 2 managed server (1A and
1B), a proxy server in front of the 2 managed servers and an admin
server.
If everything is running and I point my browser to the proxy, I get
connected to one of the managed servers. The pages served by the
cluster have acl so authentication takes place. I know I got to 1B
since the page tells me the name of the server.
If I shutdown 1B, I am serviced by 1A without having to
reauthenticate. I can tell
that I am services by 1A by the page itself. If I restart 1B and then
shutdown 1A the session is lost... I know this because when I do get
connected to 1B I must reauthenticate. Is there something I am missing
Can anyone help
Thanks,
version 6.1: Cluster Recycling Problem

Re: Cluster Recycling Problem
This sounds normal to me. I understand that the secondary is assigned when =
the
session is created. Since there there was no secondary available when the s=
ession
was created on 1A - you have no secondary so when 1A is shutdown - even tho=
ugh
1B is up at that time - the session is lost.
Someone else told me that if a session is created when there is no secondar=
y available,
and then a secondary does become available, the session will becom replicat=
ed
and then work as you expect. I am not so sure about that and have not exper=
imented
with it.
