Delivery Professional / Backup Batch man

§ Details of my duties include delivering ready mix concrete throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area on a daily basis. I am also a backup batch man in which I make the concrete with a computerized Command Alkon batching system capable of producing 300 cubic yards per hour.

Batch Man

§ Keeping up with the demand of batching concrete with a computerized Erie Strayer batching system for multiple trucks with a dry batch plant capable of producing roughly 100 cubic yards per hour. General maintenance on Ready Mix plant, keeping add mixture room clean and free of debris and making sure belts were free and clear of aggregate. Loading bins with aggregate with a front-end loader. Cross-trained in the dispatch office taking orders and talking to customers on a daily basis. Entering aggregates received into a computer controlled inventory on a daily basis and keeping track of all inventory suck as acrylic cures, add mixtures, expansion joint, and aggregate.

§ Duties included obtaining a class B CDL drivers license learning to drive 3 and 4 axle 11-yard mixer trucks. Working in dispatch learning how to take orders and speak to customers on a daily basis. Trained to run a Ready Mix plant and batch concrete with an Erie Strayer batching system. Keeping daily logs on employees’ time sheets and how many loads they received each day concerning payroll. Keeping bins full with a front-end loader. Inventory setup for aggregate and products.

§ Various duties included running fryer vats to cooking on a grill in a small family owned restaurant. Keeping food stocked on a daily basis. Ordering product from various venders, coca cola products, frozen foods, etc. Operating a hand grinder for fresh beef on a daily basis. Speaking to customers placing orders through the drive through on a daily basis as well.

1993 - 1999 Western Container Co. Kansas City, MO

Stripper / Plate Maker

§ Duties included acquiring negatives ranging from 1 to 8 separate pieces identifying their color. Laying the negatives in line on a light table making certain the dots for each negative when layered on top of one another created a certain pattern for when they are printed to create images. Burning the images onto printing plates for a 40 inch and 63 inch printing press. Make sure the images burnt onto the plates were correct and had no blemishes. Programming two different computerized step and repeat to burn the plates with. Maintained a filing system for storing the plates after they had been taken off the presses and cleaned.

1992 - 1993 Harmony Printing Co. Liberty Missouri

§ Duties were to make plates after the negatives were stripped and taking them out to the press in which they were to be printed on. Helped out in the flood of 93 in which the company was under water. Had to be let go due to downsizing from loss of business.

Camera Operator / Plate maker

§ Following in my fathers’ footsteps in the printing industry, right out of high school I started working for a daily newspaper. This is where I learned how to operate a horizontal floor mounted camera used to shoot both half tone pictures and pages for the daily newspaper. From there I laid the negatives up preparing them to be burnt onto plates. I stripped 4 color negatives for weather maps and front-page pictures of the newspaper for the cities of Independence and Blue Springs and various other small magazine publications.

Extracurricular activities

In my spare time I like to work with computers. I have a knowledge of Windows based software ranging from Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, and now Vista…soon to be Windows 7

I enjoy the assembly of computers and loading of both software and hardware as well.

I pay close attention to detail. I use to compete in stereo competitions throughout the Tri-State area explaining to judges where and why I placed items where they were in my cars for their audio listening pleasures.
