Key roles and responsibilities:

Team leader for Factory Software Validation Team, which involves project managing factory test software

between Singapore Integration Center and Factory Sites in China.

Resource management to rotate team for on-site support / project support in China (which will last from weeks to months)

Writing test software in C/Java/Bash

Administrator of the software test lab (Test Equipments setup / Network administration of test stations)

Project experience in Motorola:

2006 - Now: Tasked by Motorola Management to create a team that is focused in Factory Software Test issues,

I worked with the factory test team to create software test team that will allow to characterize software failures in

the factory so that developers can fix them. I had to create a lab that allowed to replicate the manufacturing environment

(GPIB Test equipment, RF Communication test set). My team creates test scripts in Java using Phone Test Frame and

is involved in functional/integration software tests. Tools we have used JUnit, J2EE platform.

I had to bring up the team members (fresh engineers or engineers from non-test background) up to speed by coaching

them on the processes of the Factory and the test platform used by Motorola Factory.

As of today, the Factory Test team bring up is my greatest achievement as we have been able to support numerous projects

and my engineers are expert in troubleshooting and root causing factory issues. The factory sites that we work with :

2002 - 2005: I joined Motorola as Junior Software Engineer. I was involved in writing code for the phone software on the

Motorola Proprietary platform called - P2K, which is VRTX RTOS based. I was writing code in C for phone features.

In 2003, in line with the company re-organization, the center became a Software Integration team and my role shifted from developer to

Software Integration Engineer. The primary software configuration tool used by the company is Rational Clearcase . During the next years,

my role as an Integration engineer exposed me to numerous challenging roles:

Field Test Engineer - test phones as per customer test cases

Full Type Approval coordinator - work with test houses to ensure products are GCF / PTCRB compliant

Field Failure Return Engineer - analyze and root cause failure phones from customer
