Achievements
Initiated and developed a strategy addressing systemic pay inequity. Identified a weakness in the compensation structure and took corrective action. Contributed to an effective and equitable total compensation package, and contributed to restoring credibility in the system.
Designed, developed and implemented an Employment Equity program linking legislative requirements with corporate goals and strategies resulting in certification.
Managed and enhanced the Performance Appraisal system. Designed and implemented improvements to focus on performance, thereby decreasing biases and improving the accuracy of the system.
Managed multiple tasks simultaneously, including job evaluations, performance based incentives and merit program for over 1000 employees, Performance Management Program (PMP), Employment and Pay equity programs, Pension Plan audit, and managed the job description library. The result was that scheduled time lines were met, employees were served and corporate objectives were attained.
Facilitated HR integration process post acquisitions. Conducted cost and value analysis of existing total compensation and appraised all job positions for newly acquired divisions. The result was that four new subsidiaries were integrated into the corporate compensation structure effectively.
Restructured the sales incentive plan program. Analysed effectiveness of compensation incentives and made recommendations based on corporate goals. Upon acceptance by management, the program was implemented to over 250 Sales Associates.
Developed and maintained Sales Policies and Procedures ensuring compliance with company objectives and legislative requirements. These policies were instrumental in the understanding of sales compensation and increased employee awareness of rules, reducing conflicts.
Coached managers, supervisors and employees to improve their knowledge of Performance Management. Mentored management on PMP assessments and consulted on performance and employee relation issues. Fostered positive employee relations reducing employee complaints.

Managed a 90,000 square foot Distribution center with 20 direct reports in a unionized environment. Led all facets of management including staffing, discipline, training and development, labour relations, conflict resolution, coaching and mentoring, and Health and Safety.

Warehouse Manger 2003 to 2007
Directed a 40,000 square foot warehouse with the assistance of one supervisor, 5 non unionized administrative staff and 18 unionized employees. Managed employee development, Health and Safety, labour relations, absenteeism, turnover, employee performance and WSIB training.

Senior Compensation Specialist 2001 to 2003
Managed the corporate compensation plan, based on HAY model, for over approximately 1000 employees across Canada. Managed the corporate Performance Management Program (PMP) as well as the Employment Equity and Pay Equity Programs. Developed and implemented a system to address systemic inequities in pay scale, aligning compa ratio with performance and tenure. Evaluated all new positions, reviewed and processed salary increase requests, job promotions, lateral moves and job revaluations. Participated in compensation surveys, analysed results and made recommendations to management.

Compensation Analyst 1995 to 2001
Managed and administered the incentive compensation plans and maintained all policies and procedures for over 200 Sales Associates, 20 Sales Managers, 4 Branch Managers, 2 Directors and 10 Senior Service Managers. Monitored effectiveness of plans to corporate objectives and made recommendations to address any issues. Was a resource to management, interpreted and clarified compensation policy and resolved issues. Developed and maintained all pay scale charts, produced individual compensation plans, communicated any and all changes to personnel and ensured policy and procedures were properly documented, translated and communicated to all effected staff. Tracked and reported individual performance for recognition purposes.
